7-20-07 To STARES Packet Users I have created configuration files for many different TNC's and two BBS's that I know our members use. There are 5 files in this package. AA6WK-2.pth - This is a path file for this bbs using a KA-node or Thenet node BbsInfo.dat - This is a database of BBS's known to Outpost TncInfo.dat - This is a database of TNC's known to Outpost W6STA-1.pth - This is a path file for this bbs using a KA-node or Thenet node Readme1st.txt - This File Each of these files is readable only by Outpost. (Except for this one) You need to extract these files into your Program Files > Outpost directory and replace the existing files. If you have configured any TNC's of your own, those will not be copied to the new file. If you have, please get the specifics to me and I will include them. To select one of the TNC's, go to Setup > TNC and using the pull down menu under Device Name, select one of the TNC's by highlighting it and then click on "Accept" and then on "OK". To select a BBS, go to Setup > BBS and using the pull down menu under BBS Name Select one of the BBS's by highlighting it and then click on "Accept" and then on "OK". There are two new BBS's - W6STA-1 and W6MAC-1 (Currently non operational). One other thing we've discovered about Outpost. When you enter your call, DO NOT use a -1 or other numeric suffix to your call. For example, W6XXX should be entered that way, not as W6XXX-1, or any other dash number. If the dash number is entered, when you connect to the BBS, it will report that you have messages, (if you do) but will not download them. If you have any other input you want me to include in these setup files, let me know I'm currently working on using a sound card AGW configuration for use with Outpost and will post a new set of files when available.
